Micro plastics and forever chemicals must be a lot worse than we’ve been led to believe.

It’s a good idea, though I do confess to having taken home a couple of sachets of English Mustard from our local from time to time, as if we get a jar, it has inevitably gone off by the time I want to use it.

That should do it.

I like the supermacs ketchup pump with the paper cups, the ketchup plastic sachets can be a pain to open at times.

Kicked into the long grass.
Give the supply chains a year to work it out and this time next summer it’s enforced. And that’s being generous.

Hah! Now we will finally get ketchup dispensers in McDonalds! The stinginess ends here!

A step on the right direction, but the absolute worst plastic waste I’ve seen was at Christmas with the boxes of crisps, all contained in a plastic bag inside in the box.

Hope that includes individually wrapped sugar cubes. That’s just a pointless waste

I’m pleased. McDonalds etc give you a massive handful of ketchup packets, and it’s completely unnecessary. I try and keep them but I end up not using them.

Next get rid of all fruit packed in plastic foil. I’ve lived in Ireland for a few years now and I still find it crazy how much plastic is used here to sell fruit when in Poland where I’m originally from it’s mostly loose (apart from oranges that are in those plastic nets) and you just weigh it. Why would you need plastic for apples?

Great , basically a ban on any plastics containers would be great
And if it is essential for the product it’s up to the manufacturers to make their case and prove that it can’t be done another way

If they’re going to do another meaningless gesture towards “solving” climate change can they at least bring back plastic straws?

Try a tax based on tare-to-net ratio. You will eliminate all unnecessary shite packaging and shrinkflation at the same time.

Need to rollback to plastic straws though. Paper straws have been a disaster.

Every time I go shopping there’s more and more plastic for no reason, it’s a joke, and so disheartening.100% agree, wax paper and less wrapping is the way forward

Interestingly where I grew up, there was paper bags used for everything, bakery goods, fruit and veg, even butcher counters (yes, before plastic tray fucking every meat) used a grease proof paper. Don’t even get me started on single use plastic bottles and the likes. So much could be done with a bit of a will.
