      >The company’s remuneration committee noted the “unprecedented level of adverse public and political sentiment” around high pay for executives.

      I chuckled

    2. Well that’s the outcome of interfering with bonuses. Base compensation rises and you can’t claw that back

Yah we gonna put water bills up yearly but let’s keep giving the CEO massive pay rises or bonuses instead of actually doing something constructive with that money

You have to pay top dollar to get the sort of world class shamelessness required to run a water company…

Elevated concerns!!! These fuckers have been ripping money from the water companies for decades and no one seems to give a shit, which is coincidently what is floating down many of our previously picturesque waterways because of them!

      When do the riots start?

It’s not as if they can blast us with water cannons.

I’m I surprised no, it’s just another day and another middle finger to us and everyone else, except the rich

I’m sure Mr Haslet deserves his 1.6 million. Seems to be doing an awesome job.

Well if they get blocked paying bonus’s and dividends then will just up the salary so the poor dear can afford his 6 holidays a year.

Curious how the board justify the increase pay when by all Metrics the CEO has failed to meet his basic legal requirements.

    11. You have to pay the top drawer to an idiot whose job is simply to provide clean water, improve infrastructure and get rid of the waste

Could Ofwat be anymore pathetic if it tried? “Elevated concern”… Oh noes some words! Whatever will the water companies do!

    13. Anima_of_a_Swordfish on

Probably siphoning off as much as they can before nationalising.

Is there any point in these headlines if nothing is actually done about it

All it does is demoralise and help to push apathy

Supporting a wealth tax is far easier to do than nationalisation (which is contingent on there being a good infrastructure in place to facilitate that. Bit chicken and egg) when the government has so much debt and so little assets

    15. MasRemlap on

And this is what we paid tax money to a bailout for? Lock them up and throw away the key. Criminals.

Well you see the whole privatised water situation is quite complex. On one hand a small group of already wealthy people get the opportunity to make even more money, and on the other hand the rest of us can get screwed

Anyone got the phone number of that American fella who did that health insurance CEO?

“Affinity Water said its chief executive, Keith Haslett, received £1.6m for the 2024-25 financial year, up from £709,000 the year before.”

They know the free lunch is over soon so are emptying the buffet before it collapses.

    19. Old-Sky1969 on

Bastards they are. They want locking up, not given pay rises.

    20. Thank God we privatised them so we got all those new reservoirs and infrastructure.

    21. My water bill will be going up next month a whole £33 from £63 to £96 it’s a fuking joke .

When are we going to prosecute people for doing obviously corrupt shit??
