Another Reform member who has realised that being a councillor has far more to do with dealing with complaints from local residents about their bins not being emptied, rather than trying to stop the boats.

Issue here is reform are a new party so were giving almost anyone who applied the chance to run, and then loads of them win. The other parties have established memberships and target seats, plus just didn’t win as many. Although that’s ignoring the fact that hundreds of councillors quit every year for personal reasons, it’s just reform gets news coverage because the press are motivated to attack them.

And their stupid DOGE unit is trying to give information so that they can cut costs, and yet every bye-election costs £20K.
So far from saving tax payers money they are increasing costs. Much in line with DOGE in the USA.

These headlines need to get more specific because I’m just getting deja vu at this point.

Isn’t this the third time this has happened within the last four months?

I hope that four years is enough time to show that these people aren’t fit to run local government, let alone national.

I’m losing track. Has someone created a website to keep us all informed of all these changes.

I keep seeing this happen every few days.
What did they expect local government is like?

This is something that’s really starting to worry me about reform being a major political force in the UK, which is that they don’t actually have a base of nerdy politicos who get involved in politics because they love the idea of being involved in politics and so integrate themselves fully into that world. It’s just full of aggrieved people and chances, meaning that I’m worried about reforms ideology but also their competence is a huge concern. What’s going to happen if reform actually get a substantial representation in parliament? It’s going to be a group of people who have no idea what they’re doing or any interest in learning. You kind of need your swotty nerdy politicos in order for this system to work at all

Reform councillor quits. Best not vote for then and continue to enjoy the status quo that has been so great for us all then!
