It was the same group that targeted other retailers including M&S, maybe now companies will allocate
reasonable budget to their Cyber teams.

I doubt it though, it’s a cost until your business grinds to a halt.

      From the article.

“Last week, the National Crime Agency (NCA) said four people had been arrested in connection with the hacks on Co-op and M&S
These were a 20-year-old woman was arrested in Staffordshire, and three males – aged between 17 and 19 – were detained in London and the West Midlands.”

Should really be fined substantially under GDPR and that money distributed to affected customers. Maybe they’d take protecting personal data more seriously then in future.

That should hopefully result in a big fine. 4% of the global annual turnover of £11.3billion = 452million.

So they force us to sign up for these cards to get normal prices, then let our personal details get stolen

How do the people in charge not see jail time for their absolute failure to the public

Never had my card details stolen, both me and a friend have had our accounts emptied through card details stored on the co-op app. Is a fucking disgrace.

Co-op aren’t very good at public relations are they?

I would have ensured I released this information yesterday as nearest midday as possible.
