Così sono venuto in Germania per fare un FSJ in un dipartimento psichiatrico di Halle e così l’ho fatto, ma il 31.03 di quest’anno il mio FSJ è finito e non sapevo che dovevo dire nulla al Krankenkasse, ho semplicemente pensato che non sarei stato assicurato in seguito. La scorsa settimana ho ricevuto una lettera da loro che mi ha chiesto di inviare loro informazioni sul mio reddito (stavo ancora cercando un lavoro, quindi non ne avevo). Ho inviato loro la verità, quindi 0 euro al mese e ora vogliono 266,90 euro per ogni mont che non ho pagato. Ho esattamente 900 € sul mio conto bancario, a settembre inizio un Ausbildung Zum Pflegefachmann ma fino a settembre ho 0 modo di pagare i 1334,5 € che li devo. Devo anche 454 euro al Wohngeldamt perché sono stato Wohngeld durante il mio FSJ e apparentemente mi hanno pagato un mese in più.

Call them and ask if you can pay in installments. Either way you will have to pay.
Explain your situation and ask if they’d allow you to make a payment plan.
First of all don´t panic ! That happens to them all the time.
You need to know it was a mistake you made, so it is your responsability to pay this money back.
Explain to them that you have no money, and ask if you can pay in installments: like for example 30 a month, or something like that… it is the only solution. If you just ignore them, the debt will keep on growing.
Talk to them so you can find a solution.
Health insurance is mandatory in Germany.
Call your health insurance company and explain to them that you are currently not earning any money but will be in a training relationship from September. Ask them if you can pay in installments from September.
Be sure to tell your friends about your error. Many people just think they can live in germany without paying health insurance. If you get sick you need this.
You will save lives by educating
Usually, if you show initiative but cannot pay the entire thing, they will work with you on installments. Please call them and ask if this is an option.
