I’m not an expert by any means but this program seems to be going really well, especially compared to the Eurpeon FCAS where they still can’t even decide on workshare.
BAE have a lot of experience from the F35 so hopefully Tempest will be a successful 6th gen that everyone else wants to buy.

You can’t dare suggest this won’t be the greatest thing ever or get downvoted. But there will not be the budget to bring this to fruition in the way it’s envisioned.

Edit: Point proven. You can’t dare suggest that this will be anything but the all-singing light of the world.

With the French-German-Spanish project already running into problems, and the US unlikely to export its 6th gen fighter, its looking like Tempest could be the only western option on the market for a good 10 year period.

Ah bugger, I was hoping for something a bit more futuristic looking like NGAD that doesn’t have tail fins for even more stealth.

(I know the picture on the article will look nothing like the final version, it does state that they are testing tail fins though)

I’m hoping America isn’t allowed anywhere near this project, that’s the last thing we need.

Are we also going to send millions on war horses and scutum? 🙄

One of the ever decreasing success stories in UK defence.

It’s going great guns though I kind of expected this with the addition of the Japanese.

Now if we can just kick out all the “non core” expenditure in defence we might have a credible force structure in a couple of decades.
