      Not in my lifetime …if there is one thing neither of these two countries can do properly, it’s trains …

      Good. All the infrastructure is there already mostly (we aren’t building new train lines). The only issue is border checks, but wouldn’t take that long to sort out as we have St Pancreas in London for that already.

      And no it wouldn’t run to the North of England before anyone chimes in because the trains in the EU run on a different track size to the rest of the UK.

      How will they fix the border-control problem? If the British government insists on checks before boarding the train (cf Brussels, Paris, Lille), will there be a separate secure border zone at Berlin Hbf? Who will pay for the border officials?

      Ohh goodie goodie . Hs3 here we come . 10 years later completion has now reached from London to the m25. At a cost of 13 billion. lol

      Why can’t you do direct trains to Southwest (especially Cornwall) or bullet trains all over UK first (too)?
