      > Across the country, Immigration Enforcement teams visited 828 premises in January alone – at a rate of 27 a day, with nail bars, convenience stores, restaurants and car washes a particular target.

I see a car wash was caught. I bet those workers were probably happy to be removed from that situation.

For the price of a small takeaway delivery, authorities could do documentation & address checks on Deliveroo/Uber Eats/Just Eat riders. I saw police doing this at a local takeaway recently, not sure if other crimes were involved. If they have no documents they should be required to provide them to a police station within a short timeframe. Failure to do so = deportation. Not a perfect solution but could be a cost-efficient start. Gig economy takeaway delivery is an extremely blatant widespread facilitator of illegal immigration. If enough could be caught then a convincing case could be made to nail the directors of these companies so they can’t use the “we hire contractors” excuse.

Well that cash is going to pay for 7 new immigrants in the country, where are we finding the rest of the cash

The fines should be substantially higher and the directors themselves should also be charged
