An ancient, layered, and unique city. Mild climate, sea in front, mountains at its back. A stunning geography, but one that resists infrastructure: little flat land, physical limits everywhere, every solution a compromise. Yet it has one of the Mediterranean’s major ports, an international airport, and it is just two hours from Nice
Still, it is often treated like an outsider. Associated with decay, marginalization. Frequently overlooked, misunderstood, dismissed
But it could easily play a leading role. It has everything to be a top tier city: location, history, character, identity. What is missing is vision, political will, and perhaps a bit of self-belief

Love this city. Lovely food, friendly people and great to go sailing from the old port.
