Given Starmer comes from a working class background I do not understand what he means. Just seems to be a view of “working class” that relies on you having a regional accent and working a manual trade.

As much as I like Danny – and his calling Cameron a pig fucking twat on live TV was glorious to behold, as was his radio slamming of Farage as a prick in a suit. The issues of running a country don’t really come to a matter of class.

Don’t get me wrong, it would be great to see less old etonians with PPE’s in the benches and more people from the real world with real experience doing jobs they actually have worked in (rather than hopping in and out of posts with no idea what the fuck they are doing).

That being said, it’s a matter of expertise and qualifications over who’s vagina you shot out of and what part of the country or how rich/poor you were growing up. I would be happy if we had a rich snotty MP in charge of the NHS if they were GOOD at their job and were qualified and had spent decades working in healthcare so knew what the problems were, and thereby rather than having civil servants and experts yell at them (and ignore them to follow the whip), they would do the right thing on principle.

But if Danny want’s to make his claim on the throne (as per Who Do You Think You Are?), I’d be more than willing to support him – though can we also make Kathy Burke a duchess? That would be hilarious.

Has anyone asked for Ja Rule’s take on this? Ffs Danny

Working class people don’t know how how to run a fucking government, though, do they? That’s why the likes of corbyn and bernie will never see the light of day.

    5. lubbockin on

working class realise that representative politics is just a sham and are withdrawing from engaging with it.

    6. bobbynomates on

Well all us working class are racist apparently, going by The modern champagne socialists we have in charge now , so our concerns clearly hold no weight

    7. Disastrous-Angle-591 on

Dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. I want boring, educated civil servants running the government. Not Dave the Glazier from round the pub.

Dave’s welcome to run for council or House of Commons. Which is where the “working man” gets his voice. And then. Voila. He can be PM

Danny Dyer seems to be angry and insulting, yet very rarely says anything of actual substance.

    9. antipodal22 on

You can’t even get modern Britons to agree on what kind of politics we should have, we’re that brain fucked by the media.

Keir is the PM we deserve, not the PM we want.

Because Danny Dyer is working class poor guy works 60h a week to feed is family, what a twat

Danny Dyer is a treasure but I wouldn’t go to him for political commentary

Danny’s kids go to private school and get driven around in a Bentley, there’s no definition of working class that excludes Starmer but includes Dyer.

The people who usually howl about celebrities having progressive political opinions will now be highly moved by the views of an actor from EastEnders.

Here’s an idea….. Upon election the new MP spends 6 weeks living alongside a low income family. Only this way will they ever be able to understand and have a sense of the struggle that their constituents have to undertake every day. Maybe then the words “I understand” may carry some weight. If you want to understand, you have to walk a good few miles in the shoes of another man….

Seeing as Dyer never shuts up about being related to Royalty.

      >that Dyer is a descendant of Thomas Cromwell[10] and of Elizabeth Seymour, the sister of Henry VIII’s third wife Jane Seymour. Elizabeth married Cromwell’s son Gregory Cromwell and, with the Seymour family’s assertion to be descended from Edward III (Dyer’s 25th generation ancestor), the line can be traced back to William the Conqueror and Charlemagne.[8] In response, geneticist Adam Rutherford argued that an English person being descended from a Plantagenet king was “not remarkable”, musing that “almost every Briton” can claim such descent.

Its incredibly common due to the vast number of great great, great….. grandparents that you have when you go back 25 generations 2^25=33,554,432. From that generation alone. Which is probably greater than the UK population at the time and is covered by the same person being related to you in multiple ways, due to extended “incest”.

Danny Dyer is smart. He might not be “articulate” when he expresses his opinions, but that is probably for the best. Sometimes, as we have seen with right wing populism, using ‘big words’ doesn’t work in engaging people. He’s certainly progressive but not pandering. That’s what we need. Big up Danny.

Really glad Danny has given me a well educated insight into politics, fuck off you clown

The problem with the modern world is that people seem to be under the illusion that the opinion of an actor, or a musician is worth listening to.

danny dyer is one of the biggest idiots this country has ever produced.

This nation should feel ashamed we made him as famous as he is.

    21. loadsofos on

He has no clue what he’s talking about, but that’s alright, he shouldn’t. But I have no idea this is even news?

    22. FuzzBuket on

The issues is parties not class.

the entire system is about who’s tounge gets the furthest up their current party cliques arse rather than any sort of metric of competency.

Descendent of Edward III of England calls out grammar school lad. Ha. It’s all daft but I have a soft spot for Dyer.

    24. andimacg on

Just another rich guy telling working class people what they need.

Got no issue with Danny, but fuck off mate, you’re loaded. You have no idea what it is to be working class, so stop preaching to us.
