The amount of arguments I’ve had with my Mrs about the boarding sign not meaning we need to sprint to the desk

Had a ryanair flight yesterday that closed boarding 10 minutes before the stated time. We all know they’re shite but they could at least be consistent with their shittiness.

Thought they were too cheap for transporter technology…

Midair boarding is more efficient – you’ll be grand! Just hold onto your one piece of hand luggage tightly in the catapult.

They’re pre boarding you so they can hoof the inbound lot off and load you on as fast as possible. Very common to minimise delays.

They do this so that everyone is as ready as possible to get seated and get going when the plane gets in. Get everyone ready now, everyone can get straight on once the plane is ready. Wait till it’s on the ground, lose time to finishing up the boarding process, maybe someone’s missing or has an issue with their ticket, etc, etc. Aviation is the ultimate “time is money” industry.

Don’t worry they’ll wait until it’s on the ground before making you get on.

Does anyone know of Ryanair ever closing a flight before the incoming flight had landed or arrived at the gate? I always get the feeling that is something they would/could do.

That’s normal. Recently flew from Leeds Bradford and was left standing for 40 minutes on a stairwell in direct sun. I watched the plane land and have its passengers disembark. I wonder is there some cost involved in letting the passengers sit in the lobby?

I’ll allow it, they make money on their efficiency

If you don’t preemptively call people to action early, they’ll just dick about

Wouldn’t be a Ryanair flight if they didn’t have you standing in a stairwell for 25mins before you then have to get a bus out to meet the airplane on the furthest away runway from the airport…… Oh and it’s raining aswell 😐

They are the masters of #boardingnotboarding where you get to stand in a hallway or on a staircase, but you’ve been scanned in. Bit miserable when you’re waiting and waiting, but I have to admit that it does make things more efficient than waiting until people are disembarking to start. I’m sad to admit I’ve wished for it at times when other airlines are just seeming to take their time over it all in comparison and we’re getting later and later 😂 Just horse everyone on and let’s go!

Such chancers! My cousin worked in aviation and said their turn around times were dodgy
