> The nationalisation of a second train company by the Labour Government has been completed.
> Operator c2c, which runs services between London Fenchurch Street and south Essex, was taken into public ownership on Sunday.
Here’s hoping to see news about the first nationalised water company.

Surely this means cheaper train tickets… Right? Right???

What’ll be an interesting conversation is when it’s all cemented and bedded in and they start talking about where the money’s going to go. I really do want the train fares to come down as it shouldn’t more than a holiday to German or France to get a train to London.
But I also think the unions will strike whilst the irony is hot and ask for the money to go to the workers instead of brining the ticket prices down.
That’s if the government don’t do their usual trick and remove the profits and send them to the NHS

Excellent. This can’t come fast enough. We have to undo the mistake of rail privatisation as quickly as possible

It’s a start but until they nationalise the rolling stock etc it won’t do much other than (hopefully) providing more accountability for the operations

I am getting a train from London to Liverpool later this year and the train is the same cost as a hotel. It’s a joke
