Inb4 this post gets reposted into Turkish subs and brigaded, like every goddamn time someone brings up anything slightly negative about Turkey

And again the mods will do nothing about it

The matter of cyprus could be solved easily if the turkish settlers finally leave, alas the turks just wont accept that.

It is baffling that Turkey still, half a century later, tries to justify this invasion and military occupation while pretending to be a serious, democratic and law-based country.

This is the real danger for the Balkan countries. Not Russia, not China but Turkey. They will come back one day and we must be ready to stand for our countries.

PS. Also Russia is a potential ally to the Balkan countries that’s why we must do sure they win the war in Ukraine.

    9. What caused this? Oh yeah right..

The 1974 Cypriot coup d’état was a military coup d’état executed by the Cypriot National Guard and sponsored by the Greek military junta. On 15 July 1974 the coup plotters removed the sitting President of Cyprus, Archbishop Makarios III, from office and installed pro-Enosis nationalist Nikos Sampson.[3][4][5] The Sampson regime was described as a puppet state, whose ultimate aim was the annexation of the island by Greece;[6][7][8] in the short term, the coupists proclaimed the establishment of the “Hellenic Republic of Cyprus”.[9][10] The coup was viewed as illegal by the United Nations and led immediately to the Turkish invasion and ongoing occupation of Cyprus.

Good thing there are big protests everywhere in Europe every day to end the Turkish occupation! From the sea to the sea, right?

just as every time anything related to turkey gets posted here, it is brigaded immediately by people with anti-turkish sentiments, who claim that the post is being brigaded by “tUrKisH nAtiOnaliSts reee”, when nearly every single comment comes from the same “turks bad” people that lurk throughout reddit spewing the same bullshit talking points supported by the same bullshit wikipedia articles. how dare the turkish army stopped a genocide being perpetrated by a military junta that took the reigns through a coup, oh those poor greek cypriots, can’t even kill those pesky turks in peace

    12. Waiting for the same Turks screeching and crying about “zionism and settler colonism” to show up here and defend this.
