If the LUAS or M50 or DART needed to be built today, this country just wouldn’t get it done. Its crazy

      > The additional funding has been part-financed by the sale of AIB shares and back-tax paid by iPhone-maker Apple.

Still waiting for Italy etc. to claim the Apple tax money. There were loads of people adamant that would happen.

Plans are fantastic. A really good recent history of plans, planning and future plans.

Several contractors plus a small army of surveyors, lawyers and suppliers are thrilled to hear this

We’ve got to look at the % lost to corruption like we do with % lost to profit.

For example if the average rate of taxes lost to corruption is 30%, then 20 billion will be spent on infrastructure and 10 billion will vanish.

The money is not the problem it’s the massive wastage and poor planning process that sucks up the money before we even start

We need a unified body to make large scale infrastructure and a clear methodology of expense and no tolerance for incompetence, if the company fails they default and repay it (public money for best results)

This bike shed and Hospital nonsense has shone the corruption and wastage on public schemes needs to end today

Yet we still can’t get a proper motorway from Limerick to cork

Unfortunately what they really mean is filter all this Apple tax money into developers hands

    9. In other words, more jobs for planners and conferences to attend. Unless they’re going to fast track these in some way to remove the layers of useless bureaucrats who think they are in charge, the money will arrive too late to be of benefit.

“Minister Chambers said the timeline of the Metro is dependent on the planning system”

Bolloxs that’s one goal that we will miss anyway
