“If they will be buying less food, we need to make money this way”

    2. “Morrisons has opened its own weight loss subscription, selling tirzepatide injections – also known as Mounjaro – to help shoppers shift extra pounds.”

“Morrisons Clinic also sells a £26.99 treatment for premature ejaculation…..”

This is strictly on a first come, first serve basis though.

    4. StrangledFurry on

Shop is Morrison, £129 is the introduction price, rising to £159 per month after the offer ends. Single weekly injection as opposed to other dose forms commonly seen on the market.

    5. I was a little cynical about this job but a friend of mine is on it and has lost a lot of weight and is super happy with it. It really does seem like a miracle jab for those who struggle with appetite.

    6. iamnotinterested2 on

or you dont eat £129 worth of food a month and you lose the weight as well.

People who lose weight via this method should have to walk around with a badge which states they have, it’s cheating, and they don’t deserve the acclaim that people who lose weight the proper way get.

Asda have been selling weight loss drugs for ages. Not sure how this is news.

    9. I know it probably sounds like sour grapes but in the last 6 months I’ve fixed my eating and lost like 50kg so far and I’ve been asked on more than one occasion if im using stuff like this or if Ive had surgery lol. I know they don’t mean anything by it but it feels like a slap in the face when I’ve been through hell for it and still struggle daily haha, probably not entirely related but a good excuse to rant

[According to the Metro article on the Mounjaro jab:](https://metro.co.uk/2024/12/05/mounjaro-new-nhs-weight-loss-jab-22125982/)

“Mounjaro can cause side effects like nausea, heartburn, constipation, headache, vomiting, diarrhoea, gallstones, or inflammation of the gallbladder.

Affecting more than one in 10 people taking the drug, these side effects are usually mild and fade after a few weeks. They can increase with higher doses.

It has also been linked with depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts, experts warned.

One death has been officially linked with tirzepatide in the UK.”

For now, I think I’ll stick to hating myself and perpetually starting my diet tomorrow.

Most supermarkets know people are buying less food because of these jabs. They need to accept this, thats why they are moving into this space to at least mitigate reduced sales.

    12. AdorableFlan8952 on

Mark my words we will see a HUGE increase in daily mail articles about how the jab is bad for you.

Nice little sneaky hit pieces paid for by anyone and everyone who is impacted by the general population losing weight.

    13. If people knew all it took was getting off your ass and going for a daily walk

    14. JeebusWept on

That’s nice. I just bought about a years supply for £160.

    15. WoW, anything but sport or stopping the sugar bombs from the supermarkets / fast food brands.

    16. Fancy-Prompt-7118 on

Disgraceful. Morrisons of all supermarkets too! Shame on them!

    17. Deadliftdeadlife on

I’ve no idea what the cheapest offers are from legit sources but I get the stuff for about £160 for 8-12 weeks worth depending on the dose.

I genuinely hope it’s rolled out to more and more places at cheaper and cheaper rates, it’s a wonder drug

    18. UrticateSeven on

At that price I’m not surprised there’s a booming grey market out of china

    19. Villan900 on

Call me tinfoil hat if you want but I don’t trust these things at all. It feels like they’re being pushed out as some sort of miracle cure, we all know what they say about things being too good to be true. What exactly are they doing to your body? What are the long term effects of it? Think we’re going to see some compo adds in a few years.

    20. revpidgeon on

I can do it cheaper. Just hand me £100 of your food money for the month.

    21. knit_on_my_face on

Kind of depressing that our solution to excessive greed was to basically vaccinate ourselves from becoming fat

    22. Morrison’s selling drugs for weight loss, premature ejaculation, acne and acid reflux really is such an insane cross-section of a specific part of the population that you could frame it

    23. SuspiciousWriter6081 on

I’ll keep trying and failing to do it through exercise and dieting thanks

    24. GreatBritishHedgehog on

Glad to see this is becoming more widely available

    25. Murfiano on

Free newspaper metro now charging online?? Fuck name is glad I can remove paywall

    26. Lazercrafter on

Funny how they are pushing these “weight loss” injections onto everyone! I find it strange.
