Sounds like Ukraine needs some strategic bombers next, although I don’t know if they can protect them. Sounds like it’s mostly up to Germany to come through with a ground-launched long range solution.

I find it hard to wrap my head around how it’s hard to launch from land, but fine from air or sea. The missiles are famously known for self correcting their navigation and flying at low altitude. So the mechanics of launching shouldn’t be too restrictive. The computer systems are compact enough to fit in an aircraft. Can they not be installed in a truck? Surely they were tested on land before being installed in ships.

Going from a range of 250km to 2,500km along with a warhead increase (50kg to 450kg) opens up sooooo many more targets and creates dilemmas for Russia.

So from what I’ve read these would be great because
      a) long range
      b) big boom
      c) navigation and software is really really good.

I get why C is hard, but why are the first two so hard? This far in and Ukraine has ballistic missiles, but cruise with that kind of range and payload is too hard? What kind of obstacles are there?
