Right or wrong decision? I’m sure some people would like to commiserate with the team.

That’s the equivalent of dad saying ye were so bold yer getting no ice cream on the drive home.

I’ve never heard of the losing team cancelling a homecoming before but I stand to be corrected. The article is paywalled but without context, it does come across as them being sore losers

Folded faster than Superman on laundry day the second half.

It’s a bad look on the team.
Go home and face the supporters who followed you through to the final.

Thank you BBC 2 for broadcasting the game live to the entire UK

Don’t blame them for a minute.

I’m not even a GAA fan. But as a Cork woman I would go and support the team and management. While not the result that was expected I thinks it’s important to stand behind them when things go terribly wrong. Let that hard talking and tough decisions be made next week.

Isn’t getting embarrassed and humiliated once enough? Do you want them to go through it again? Do you agree with participation trophies? 🤣

They probably wouldn’t have show up again.

If the team’s not up to it maybe they could just turn up for half of it?

I’d say this is coming from the team, they’re probably heartbroken .

After that second half maybe the players themselves don’t want to attend?

If Mayo done the same instead of parading around after losing and having egos nurtured they might have got over the line by now.
I respect Cork in that sense that they clearly are not satisfied with losing.

Pat Ryan sent them to bed with no dinner last night so I hear.

I genuinely feel bad for them and totally understand the decision.

Can’t imagine how deflated they must have felt after that game.
It’s a game that will live in GAA infamy.

Cork were poor second half, but that doesn’t take away from Tipp’s performance. Great advert for the game.

That is rough. Were they really that bad?
Mentally weak both on and off the field it seems. No surprise they capitulated.
