What a disgusting human being. He tracked her down to a refuge and waited until she came out with their child.
At least he couldn’t use manslaughter as a defense, entirely premeditated.

What a monster. Poor woman, she finally was going to be free of him, and he did that. It breaks my heart. I hope their child can overcome this trauma.

Manslaughter is a charge brought by the CPS, it has a lower evidential bar than murder.
I think what I’m trying to say, albeit poorly above, is that his actions met the requirements that the CPS need to make a charge of murder with a strong expectation that the Jury will find the defendant guilty.
Long story short his actions could be proven to fall into the requirements for a murder charge.
