The ramifications of dismantling NABU is both terrifying and detrimental! The entire point of having anti-corruption councils was to prove to European countries that Ukraine was taking steps to move to western standards of governance, crack down on corruption (which in the past was usually Russian backed **but now is majorly internal)** protect democracy and transparency of governance, and insure that EU countries would support and back Ukraine – **without it they will stop funding as NABU was a requirement for funding**. Ukraine will also **never be allowed to join the EU without NABU** as it was a requirement. The parliament is entirely one party and they have thoroughly stomped out all opposition and democracy along with it.

alright, now it finally makes sense why they wanted to pass a bill that would allow the national guard to open fire on protestors.

Why is this happening? This seems just like Trump politicizing the Department of Justice and dismissing the (formerly independent) Inspector Generals from all the government departments.

I hope the EU leaders reach out and pressure Zelenskyy to veto this bill. Zel needs to announce a plan for post-war transition of power, and new elections.

The reason I decided to leave Ukraine when I was in 7th grade.

UPD: my director was extorting money and giving me bad grades.
