Farage lying? What a complete shock!!

He has also claimed that the counter-protestors are Antifa, no lol, they are organisations like Stand Up To Racism (though pretty much operate as a SWP front) or Hope not Hate. They are anti-fascist (ergo anti-Farage) though!

Nigel Farage? Making up or repeating lies to incite racist violence?

I suppose we are approaching the Farage Riots season.

      > Essex Police released a statement hours after Mr Farage’s video, refuting his claims.

How can a journalistic body like Sky misuse the word refute so badly. They contested, challenged, fought, took issue with, replied to, etc Farage’s claims, not ‘refuted’ them

Politicians and journalists caught spewing misinformation should be made to buy out ads / front pages to put out corrections.

~~Essex Police say~~ Nigel Farage claims ~~about migrant hotel protest~~ are ‘categorically wrong’.

To be clear, Farage appears to have made several claims, some of which are accurate.

He posted yesterday at 23:03 on FB

“Essex Police escorted ANTIFA protesters to the Bell Hotel in Epping to force a confrontation. Initially they denied that it had ever happened in the first place. Heads must roll.”

this is accompanied by a picture of police walking protesters TO the site.

Essex Police have (understandably) admitted to doing this.

He also commented a video of the police bussing protesters, saying that the police were bussing protesters TO the site.

In fact, he was mistaken – they were being bussed FROM the site.

So I think it’s a bit misleading to say he was “categorically wrong”.

The protesters were indeed escorted by Essex Police, in both directions, and he highlighted both the bussing and the foot-escort.

However he was mistaken about the direction of the bussing. I’m not sure however given that they were ALSO escorted in the opposite direction that this particularly destroys Farage’s narrative.

He’s very slapdash with facts and should take more care.

The last time the police challenged him he denied saying something in the first place to the same newspaper. Look up how his car was “sabotaged” in France for a funny and depressing read.
