Maybe they’re going to add a 5% surcharge to the weapons they’re selling to Israel?

    2. PenguinsAreAllAlone on

Weird trio. Germany? Are they going to apologize to Israel for not sending enough weapons?

    3. PleaseMayIHaveAnothr on

Best case scenario, they will join Marjorie Taylor Greene’s movement to cut off Israel from military supplies.

I didn’t have MTG and EU join forces on by bingo card.

    4. Maybe this time they stop being USA bitches and cowards?

      Not holding my breath…

Result: “Whatever is happening in Gaza is very concerning”.

Don’t you guys think maybe it is more reasonable for HAMAS to actually release the hostages and eventually stop the conflict? It looks like Palestine-fans always forget about the hostage situation, no?

I am just curious why that part of the conflict is almost never mentioned…

    7. GreenEyeOfADemon on

Hopefully they will push Hamas to release the hostages so that this nonsense will end.

Let’s hold another meeting about the big meeting we had last week concerning the big thing we held the big meeting about. Then let’s get together for another emergency meeting to further discuss previous meetings and further meetings planned in the future.

Don’t expect any action on genocide if Germany are involved.

Final communique: Israel has the right to defend itself!

It is in our, Europe’s, interest for a stable and prosperous Middle East. The Middle East is our backyard, not the backyard of the US, or Russia, or China. And it is time for Europe to exert our influence and hard power in the region for the greater good. We need a stable Lebanon, Syria and Israel/Palestine. We need the conditions to allow the return of refugees and ensure the end of extremism from the region which affects our own domestic politics.

I’ve always been a proponent for the UK and EU to enforce peace in Syria (which has now been achieved and we should ensure that Syria remains united and prosperous tied to Europe), and enforce a two state solution for Israel Palestine. If that is to be done without the US, so be it. If that means European troops in the West Bank and Gaza as we did in Lebanon in the 80s, so be it.

Given Germanys braindead stance on the whole matter and the seeming refusal to rebuke Israel, I’m very pessimistic. Their made up dilemma and hard on for Israel is only making them more complicit on the matter.

    13. Frankly France should just openly denounce the UK and Germany and call them out for being directly and explicitely complicit. Even if just to save their own hide.

I feel as though this meeting has been set up in bad faith to give the impression that they’re working against the ethnic cleansing. My prediction is they’ll announce they are going to stop selling weapons to Israel but only the ones Israel doesn’t buy or something sneaky along those lines.

    15. History_isCool on

Will any of these countries actually come up with a solution? Any proposals at all? Or are merely capable of making statements. If pressure is solely used on Israel then nothing happens. More pressure should be put on Hamas. The guys that started this whole mess.

    16. PancakeOrder on

Unless they are going to deploy their navy to deliver food themselves and dare Israel to stop them, I doubt something will change.

    17. casettedeck on

Germany will be there to stop any concrete action. Pathetic…

    18. hectorbrydan on

I am sure they are holding an emergency meeting to decide on writing a Mealy mouthed letter.

All hacks, all in on it. Just trying to make it look like they are not supporting extermination of Israel’s others in this giant ghetto they made.

    19. VicenteOlisipo on

We’re gonna be holding meetings until the genocide is complete and then make a big deal about how sad it was, Srebrenica-style.

    20. ThaiFoodYes on

What a waste of time and money, there are much more pressing matters, with actual direct impact, to attend to for all those 3 countries … Much more important than farming popularity points with their muslim immigrants population.

    21. Lucine_machine on

Starmer will issue a statement saying that the “situation in Gaza” (genocide) is intolerable, and then continue tolerating it once the meeting is done. Maybe he’ll find another pro-Palestinian protest group to label as a terrorist group too!
