La verifica dell’età porno nel Regno Unito è qui – ma cosa succede se stiamo inviando adolescenti da qualche parte peggio?

Of course it will lead to children getting lured into unregulated channels and groups, but I somehow find this hilarious and I’m looking forward to the self-indulgent pity stories to surface soon.
Here we go…
This is such a typical UK attitude.
“I encourage my kid to drink at home instead of parenting him about alcohol because otherwise he’d be becoming an alcoholic somewhere else.”
“We need to let kids see women getting choked and treated like sex toys on a major porn platform because it would be worse if they looked at anything weird.”
I hate that the internet is becoming more regulated because it’ll mean we all end up paying more and have less access to all kinds of information. But the reality is that the free availability of porn damages kids.
We can either spend money on services/resources for kids or at least block them from seeing what harms them. There are schools literally caving in on them and people voted to close down all of their services to give Boomers gold-plated welfare.
It’s going to lead to people handing over pictures of their faces to go on fake websites and then getting scammed/blackmailed.
People still fall for the Nigerian Prince scam…
How to proficiently get stupid Internet blocks!
Get shares and VPNs
I am 100% sure this law was dumb, first we’re giving our personal info to companies which could be shady for the sake of age verification, secondly instead of viewing things from this more safer website now they could be lulled into more malicious places to view these things.
It’s almost like these laws are created by people who don’t understand how the internet work and what places are truly safe and unsafe.
Plus if they truly wanted to have a better form of age verification the government should’ve made an app where they can do it themselves, and you can link it to the website and all it would send is a positive or negative confirmation so you don’t have to actually give the site your personal details.
I always thought that one of the most damaging elements was young children sensing their peers explicit photos of themselves.
Having access to cameras on phones is for me, the real problem. It leads to bullying, blackmailing, peer pressure etc.
This element is still unregulated, young teens with a full powered smart phone is massively unhealthy, and I’d go as far as dangerous.
There’s plenty of sites with out the verification or alternatively duck duck go app gets around it , of course kids aren’t going to go on the dark web looking for porn ! This argument is equally as ridiculous as the argument for the age verification system
A silver lining is that at least 1 MP is going to get caught up in a high profile ID scam from a porn site – I guarantee it.
But the damage caused to get that one hilarious outcome isn’ worth it.
* Kids are going to find weird unregulated porn, or, even worse make their own.
* Pretty extensive ID data and browsing data is going to be harvested by non-uk companies
* We’re already seeing support groups for drugs, alcohol and even domestic abuse being flagged as NSFW and requiring ID, preventing people accessing them.
* There are going to be a ton of scams about.
Easier option would be to educate parents on how to manage device parental controls. Both iOS and android have really good, simple to use and easy to manage parental controls. If parents can’t be arsed with that then we have a greater problem that can’t be masked.
Its strange that cant view adult content in UK, but install VPN switch to Afghanistan and its OK. We are now more restrictive in what you can access online than a country controlled by the Taliban
This was never something that needed regulation or laws, it was a parenting issue
I can’t believe they introduced this without a .gov age verification portal that is used across all age related sites!
Restrictions imposed on normal tax paying adults because some parents don’t give the faintest fuck about what their iPad kids are accessing. Great. For the first time in my adult life I am starting to agree with the argument of nanny state
I need ID to see someones profile on reddit, i still get porn on instagram and facebook. Hell even got ads for a porn game on facebook the other day.
This puts children way more at risk.
Everyone here should sign this petition against the AV rules becasue they are a legal and privacy nightmare.
We just gone pass 60K signs!

The news in a few weeks will read “There has been a massive irretrievable data loss”
This is so stupid it does t also affect porn on Reddit they blocking anything they consider NSFW even things like cigars etc. I assume same will be wine forums etc. I just for first time went and brought a VPN and I assume people will now also go on the dark web if they don’t want to spend money on a VPN. So we just going to be like Iran and China where everyone will be using back channels to go online. How is this better I have no idea. Also when everyone who actually uses an age verification service be interesting to see what they do when those services get hacked or that data gets sold on.
Already seen the ‘face scan’ verification method go horribly wrong, someone did it for Discord, Discord decided this person was really 11 (they were in their 30s) instant 2 year band with no appeal
Impossible. Our glorious government has made an educated and competent decision to keep our children safe. Almost zero children will now access adult material on the internet
I can no longer access r/scotch.
Apparently discussing a fucking glass of whisky is now considered porn.
Just saying… since the advent of the internet. Kids have been able to access all porn sites just like the adults.
But parents where better at parenting.
This isn’t a state issue. it’s a discipline one…
VPNs circumnavigate the checks, VPNs will be banned.
When yer horny… nothing stopping you from finding porn. Just now, it’s going to be to less regulated sources and people are already using OTHER PEOPLES IDs to gain access.
Everything about this is bad news.
Teach your children better, solve the problem instead of masking it like every-fucking-thing the UK does. It’s pathetic.
Ps. The UK now blocks adult content more so than the freaking Taliban.
One of the bad things that’s coming out of this is companies like Wikipedia are looking at restricting access to the UK as the law is so badly worded, They could be classed as a class 1 provider and would need to follow the rules of the porn sites. So to prevent this, they were talking about preventing UK residents from editing pages or limiting the amount of use from the UK in any day.
I’m sure they’re not alone in being caught up in something that really should have nothing to do with them.
Well, it wouldnt matter. As this was never about protecting kids. It was always about data collection.
All the failed men spluttering & pretending they have some kind of moral high ground or insight on this, when really it’s just the same tantrums as whenever anything might get in the way of their grotesque, slobbering sexual incontinence.
all these age verification services are mostly based in the USA, don’t follow GDPR and state they will use your data for what ever you want, soon we would have to give ID over just to log on to the internet. don’t forget to praise our overlords in the morning.
In true UK govt fashion I predict it’ll be less than a month before a massive data leak from a less than reliable site that’s been set up in a hurry.
Best case is we get a week of fun tabloid stories confirming the rumours about truss and a story on how mogg is really into scat.
Worst case is the UK govt accidentally honeypots themselves.
Just so baffling that with the many problems of young folk and the internet this is the one they go after
we’re blocking tubes and pushing teens straight into telegram and worse. great job everyone.

Sign the petition guys, don’t let them get away with this useless act that only assists a step towards authoritarianism.
Yeah, and said teens can’t afford a “trustworthy” vpn service either. Which is going to lead them down free ones, which will just scrape and sell all of their browsing data… :/
