I have signed up for updates and wouldn’t vote for a Corbyn led party if you paid me.

Same here, different name same shite.
Yes the name could be “Same Old Shite” party.

Did he get confused when filling out the form and now he’s committed?

Corbyn helping Labour do a speed run to get Reform elected lol.

They’ve not learned from everyone trolling the labour party when signing uo cost a fiver have they?

    6. KnightOfTheOldCode94 on

I don’t think that was the case, he said in an interview that they will decide the name later.

Personally I think Jezbollah is perfect.

The one thing that the Reform Party got right is the name, in the same way that the Green Party has it wrong.

Many voters won’t read much past the title of the book, so when we consider the problems we face right now, the phrase’ reform’ used to come up a lot. Selecting this name addresses the challenge that voters feel needs to be tackled.

Similarly, while Green stands politically where many people want to see change, it is often misread as a single-issue party due to its name (and their history).

I’d argue that “Your Party” doesn’t convey a clear purpose, and will struggle to communicate effectively with voters.

    8. Uhuh … an excellent strategy, split the left of centre vote enough to make Reform a shoo-in. Plus as a bonus might even get the Conservatives a vote or two.

I bet Farage is cheering this on.

For some reason reminds me of an otherwise long forgotten Charlie Brooker Screenwipe bit. “I am YourBoss from the planet YourBo, and discipline is something I go fucking crazy for!”

“Your Party?” This guy is trying to scrounge an invite to my party !!!

    11. Could we see some kind of political alliace between them and the Greens, similarly to the French New Popular Front?

Because there is a real chance these two may reduce Starmer’s Labour to a distant fourth place by the time the next elections happen

So I think this new party will find it difficult to get a new name.

On the one hand, I think it is wise for them to avoid some kind of word salad of “socialist democratic worker’s party” or something (which I think they’re doing).

On the other hand, their party still needs to convey something about what they stand for politically (which tbf, the word salad hyphens would do).

I think the solution here is to come up with a boring name like “the Left alliance”. Gets the idea across without sounding too doctrinally specific.

God, I wish we had some kind of movement like this over in the states.

Honestly I won’t commit full support until things are more fleshed out but the actual possibility of a left party is actually quite exciting and also looking forward to possibly not voting for a party because they’re the lesser evil despite them continually saying / showing they don’t want left voters anyway lol

That’s…. a terrible name. It’s about the only nice thing I have to say about them but “Reform” as a name is strong branding.

    16. Massive_Queen on

This isn’t true, he said the members could vote out of a few names soon. I think this is a great idea – a fully democratic party.

I mean obviously there’s no chance this party would ever get elected but I dread to think how much worse and how scary this country would be to live in if corbyn and saltana ever got elected – Thankfully it’ll never happen but yikes It’s scary to even think about it.

The biggest topic in the country is immigration.

      This is a non-starter.

Ah yes, “The Your Party” just *rolls* off the tongue…

Needs a better name. Your Party comes off as a placeholder

    21. My god the jokes write themselves if they actually keep that name

Its gonna be ChangeUK all over again

This is bringing me back to ‘Your text here’ ‘Top text’ ‘ Bottom text’ memes of the early 2010s

    23. Shoddy-Break6789 on

Politics aside, the name seems really bizarre. Frankly it sounds like an Abbott and Costello routine waiting to happen.

    24. Intruder313 on

That is a terrible name indicating they have not agreed a name yet

    25. drewbles82 on

As long as his not the leader, and Abbott isn’t included either, I’m all in.
