Very plausible that he hasn’t realised the tories aren’t in power any more. Disliking Sadiq Khan was very much a thing in the Conservative government.

If Trump insults you, you must be doing something right. That said, with how senile he is at the moment, he could well be confusing him with Khan out of Star Trek.

I hate the fact that he can come over to another country and say this with impunity.

He really does think he’s above everyone else and it infuriates me that he’s gone through life with no one bringing him down a peg.

How you as a foreign leader can come to another country that is a firm and key ally that is essential to your foreign policy and geopolitical situation and then criticise their regional leaders is beyond me, its the equivalent of Starmer going to the US and saying that Greg Abbott is a scumbag. Its poor form and shows a terrifying lack of knowledge with regards to diplomacy and soft power politics, and the worst part is, we have to suck up to it because we occupy the low ground. Trump, for better or worse has all the cards right now and that is a really scary prospect.

We have to move to autarky and independence in all key sectors of infrastructure and national management as soon as possible, to do so is an affront to national self respect. We need the US for now, but we must work with Europe and make them understand that the EU isn’t the only project that will make Europe strong, it is cooperation and unity in the face of exterior aggression. Long term the United States will always be our ally, they have no other choice realistically, but we mustn’t let them hold the keys to our own security, its the same argument that the UK and US had when Germany blindly agreed to Nord Stream. We have to think decades ahead as that is what our adversaries do, they do not think of our goodwill as a gesture but as weakness and that will only provoke them.
