This why UK pensions aren’t investing in UK stocks most UK stocks are worthless and those that get big enough move to US anyway.
This is more to do with the big 6 and automated trading resulting in consolidation to US markets but our media will continue to talk the country down.
We’re fast heading towards a future where almost all the world’s most valuable companies are going to be based in the USA
Shareholders voted this move so their company is better able to do any M&A, improve the return on investment and provide more liquidity. Bonus for shareholders is that unlike the UK where stamp duty and 1.5% commissions are common, the USA has minimal or almost zero commissions. Wise will probably prosper as will it’s investors within the light- to no-touch U.S.A. regulatory environment. Crypto will certainly be easier to access and trade under Trump’s light touch.
