Do Sinn Fein expect the government to literally do everything for people?
Take personal responsibility and learn to do it yourself. The revenue website is actually pretty good and easy to use.
If eligible people aren’t claiming it, it suggests they aren’t stuck for it. The rent credit has been significantly discussed and outlined over recent years.
Im surprised Eoin had time in his busy book writing schedule to even ask the question.
This is actually in peoples collective benefit, because _not_ claiming this stops rents from rising in proportion to it.
I’m starting to dislike that cohort of privately educated TD toffs from Dublin preaching from their pulpit. Ó Broin, Paul Murphy, Jennifer Carroll-McNeil, Mary Lou McDonald.
There also needs to be a mortgage tax credit that is available to a larger group. I paid out the ass for my house and have a big mortgage yet I get no relief on the interest payment.
It’s up to people to claim their tax credits. It’s not hard to do.
Does he want the government to do everything for everyone?
I mean tbf I know loads of people who aren’t even aware of half the stuff they can claim for from revenue.
He’s correct that there would be benefit for the public in greater advertising on this.
This has to be the most ridiculous complaint in a while from the opposition
The government are not baby sitting the population and its the government fault
The article should be
“People incapable of looking after themselves”
