      More info : A sea of German workers performing the Nazi salute… except one man, standing defiantly with arms folded across his chest, refusing to raise his hand.

      (Possibly) He is now believed to be August Landmesser, a shipyard worker who had a Jewish fiancée and opposed Nazi policies.

      However, his identity is not confirmed. Some historians suggest the man might instead be Gustav Wegert,

      there’s no record that August Landmesser was punished specifically for refusing the Nazi salute in that photo

      Even queen Elizabeth and americans used to do the roman salute. If i remember correctly this man had some injury due to WW1

      Look how many faces holding their arms out are looking down in shame. Now look at the dignified and noble posture of the man encircled. Look at the scrutinizing and loathing expression of the man on the edge of the circle looking at his refusal. We all must be August Landmesser / Gustav Wegert.

      The man is the definition of even all the people are blindly following then YOU have to make sure that they are going in the wrong path and by doing that he’s showing his courage, for the people to see.

      The funny thing is that everyone thinks they would be that man. No, you would be a Nazi like the rest of society because that is the right way of living. The people who would resist that kind of stuff are people who are seen as rebels and anti society and are now looked down on because of this. If we had a dictatorship, fascism, or whatever, these people would be the only ones that have the guts to resist. Some people just live in the wrong time period and wrong conditions, but they serve a purpose.
