If everyone stops buying it at that price, it will drop quickly.

But…prisoners dilemma. If enough buy it to match what profits they used to make, they can afford a drop off in customer base.

    2. Ask the man who holding you at gun point if you can buy a cheaper brand or just not buy it.

Nobody is forcing you to buy it or anything else stupidly expensive.

What ? Supermarkets said that they are not price gauging.. this is just normal and we imagine things. The government increased your minimum wages.. why the complain ?
So nothing to see here.. carry on

    5. These aren’t even £2 in the North in a garage, never mind in a supermarket

Try give them less and see what happens

It looks like Dunnes so they have their own brand cheaper

Well, it is ultra processed shit anyway so just ignore this.

Can these posts be moderated at this point?

We all know shit is more expensive and there’s an own brand cheaper option if people are offended by the price of this one.

I left the country 2 years ago. A loaf of branded bread was a little over 2 euro. This is fruit loaf though, so woulda been a bit more.

From the reports of inflation and gouging on this sub every 17 minutes… I dunno, 4 euro doesn’t seem too shocking tbh.

You would make a way nicer one at home for a fraction of the cost

And even if it gives you the runs , you’ll get fleeced by over €13 for 12 Immodium!

I see your username. You’re just trying to whip up a frenzy about baked goods to hawk your discount battenburgs.

    13. Fruit loaf is pretty inessential. A regular sliced pan has gone up in price but could really have gone up by more based on the price of the ingredients for some time

Our currency is just a lot less valuable now is all. Food will always be valuable, it was just way below value for long enough because of the recession and central banks keeping interest levels down. It’s should have risen more gradually but anyways, here we are.
If you have the same salary as you did in 2018, you basically got a big pay cut

The equivalent product is €1.49 in Aldi, just buy that instead

Wait til you see what they’re charging for comparable gluten free products

Paid €4.04 for a bottle of Lucozade at the airport yesterday. Thought about jumping on a plane and flying somewhere cheaper.

    18. 400gr for 4 quid? I think it would not be much more expensive to make one yourself….and taste better for sure….
