“We are working to close hotels, restore order, and put fairness and value for money at the heart of our asylum system.” – does this mean close the hotels which people can see and pinpoint. Put people in private rentals while waiting the decision on their asylum claim?

The current government did not create the current migrant issue. They are here as a consequence of right wing incompetence. Labour are removing failed asylum seekers in greater numbers than before. Labour are also working to reduce new arrivals. Don’t like the current mess? Don’t vote for right wing populist governments.

It is not like the government are in an easy position here, there is no quick fix. Immigration and the asylum system needs to be tackled, there is no doubt about that, you cannot just undo it all overnight though. Most of those immigrants will have arrived here before Labour were even elected and Labour inherited the broken system to begin with. It is going to take time for real change to appear. If we decide Labour has failed after only a year in charge then we will never see meaningful change take effect; this is an issue that will take multiple terms for a government to sort out properly.

If/when something happens to a British citizen as a result of the lack of action on immigration control, can the victims make a legal claim against the state?

Just a couple of points. Without minimising the awful crime alleged, and the upset cause to the youngster, the charges are “inciting a girl to sexual activity, and harassment without violence”. The alleged criminal is rightly on remand awaiting trial.
But this wasn’t an “attack”, an “assault” or a “rape”, all claims by those with an agenda which goes far beyond protecting women. She was propositioned and pestered, the sort of unwanted attention many women have had, and ought to be taken as seriously by authorities, whoever is responsible.
Also, since she hasn’t been identified, and nor has her father, we have no idea whether this person reported, is her father or just some random wanting to have his say in print. Or even, a dishonest journalist?
Before you lambast me for “defending rapists”, read again what I’ve said about the alleged criminal. He deserves the full weight of the law if guilty. But so do all those who pester girls and women with such unwanted sexual advances.

Simple fix. Giant tent immigrant camps. You are caged up, until you are identified and processed. Until then it’s tough.
My family immigrated back in the 50s, they did so legally. Cost them a lot of money but they knew to come legally with all documentation to say who they are and where from.

The backlog is largely caused by cutting back on the tribunal process, which has to be gone through before asylum seekers can be removed legally. Those cutbacks go back many years. The fact that asylum seekers have to be supported through that process and it’s now very slow must be a bit of a pull factor, to say the least.

Labour and the left wing place more concern over their precious migrants who enrich our culture with their misogyny than they do British women
