Which is exactly why we should break away from our economic dependence on China. We made that mistake once with Russia and are now on the best way to repeat it. On the other hand, it would also help if our supposedly closest ally did not start a trade war with its partners.
The wars (i.e, own goals by Russia and Iran) in Ukraine and the Middle East have weakened their little anti-West axis so good luck with that.

Europe, a reliable partner, wants to trade with you… but you chose the terrorists and murderers from Russia? Stop the support of these Nazis now! Only then we can talk and trade again.
The EU needs needs to invest in domestic manufacturing, and also needs to put laws that make moving productions abroad is disincentivized. China has all this leverage on us because we depend on them industrially. We need to become more independent.
Not to mention the way China is spreading its influence in Latin America and African countries.
Why would anyone wanna partner with criminals and get economically fucked? China is stupid.

It looks like China didn’t supply Russia with weapons so far. At least I don’t remember reading about that.
If China would supply Russia with modern tanks, artillery, fighter jets, ballistic missiles etc, in large scale, that would be very bad news for Ukraine and the rest of Europe.
China can not afford Russia to loose .. it would cost them to much .. it’s just a matter of time before they get pulled in deeper
Following the logic of the headline, if there is a truce in Ukraine tomorrow, there will be no split between Europe and China.

For china its a dream comes true Scenario, EU is weakening, Russia is in check, and China is making fortune. IMO china will do anything to keep the Status quo, they dont want to see Russia to win/lose, they just want to see them going on and paying big money…

China is interested in exploiting Europe’s weakness by keeping Ruzzia weak but belligerent enough to stay that way. China has also had a dream to restore the Chinese Empire with boundary encompassed from Central Asia to Korea, and from Siberia to Southeast Asia.
I am amazed how delusional Europe can be.

The EU needs to act more
Partnership over principles. Innocent lives are just a line item in the trade balance
Idk, China doesn’t seem opposed to peace, it is more that what the west calls “peace” requires actually an absolute military victory by Ukraine, which China has no reason to support
Shows how China is completely hypocritical when it comes to territorial integrity. They only insist on it if it benefits themselves.
Lets say hypothetically China pressures the Russians to stop. The EU and its states will absolutely not return the favor. If anything I would expect Europe to pivot to Asia along with the Americans. On top of that a unstable or hostile Russia is a huge headache for Beijing since it shares a large border and a rough history. It would be a huge loss for almost no gain.
While Beijing doesn’t like the war since it accelerated a lot of tensions it hasn’t totally lost out either. Sino Russian relation is at the best its ever been in history and the situtation is stable enough that it has not caused a huge problem for Beijing.
Until Europe changes in some ways I don’t expect things to change.
EU wimped out against Trumps tarrifs. China can see that EU has no teeth, China dont care
