Mandela effect as I thought he’d died years ago, though I’m thinking of his wife Janet (which the sub-heading incorrectly says is Jane…)

Used to always read their books as a small child, my mum still has them and we’ll be reading them to our kids when me and my wife get around to it.

Ah that’s sad. I’m at the age where all the figures of my youth are dying. All Ahlberg’s books were great – Funnybones was iconic and Woof! Was possibly the first novel I read.

Legends, both he and his wife.

I still sing… ”When a knight won his spurs in the stories of old, he was — face to the front David Briggs, what have you been told.”

Janet and Allan have had such a positive influence on many generations of children, I can only hope that many more generations will enjoy their books.

Aw, sad to hear this. I have a very well loved copy of Each Peach Pear Plum somewhere from when I was a wee babe. Can still recite most of it.

That’s sad. I can still remember each peach pear plum from heart. It was my daughter’s favourite book. We have most of their books, now in the loft. I loved the happy families series as a child myself.

NO! Each peach pear plum! Peepo! Funny bones! The Jolly Postman!

What an absolute banger of a legacy. Rest in peace, thank you for bringing joy to me and to my children.

Burglar Bill and Funny ones were a big part of my childhood library. RiP

      Sad to hear this.
Funnybones was one of my favourite books as a kid to the extent my mum got a copy of Funnybones for me to read to my kid.

    10. Just read Each Peach Pear Plum to my son at bedtime tonight. As it was for me at his age. Thank you Janet and Allan.

I read peepo in to my baby most nights, as my mum read to me. His and Janet’s memories are indeed blessings

      Awwh no 🙁
I’m pregnant, and my daughter is gonna be the third generation in the family to read his and his wife’s books. Was just about to start buying them in preparation.

      An absolute legend.
