Feck food, used to buy candles , three quid a pop as of today. Randomly they are now 3.50.
I swear the Louch Ness Monster has just taken over.
NEver mind my refusal to spend more for less Pringles. it was hilarious when they would stack the old tubes beside the new smaller ones at the same price.

I’ve noticed lately everything on the shelves in supermarkets costs 3 euro. Bread, OJ, cold chicken, ham, cheese, sauces…. Everything is 3 euro.

Anybody want to explain the reasons here? It’s not energy costs.  They are down year over year.Â

I dont get what basket of goods they use to come up with the food inflation figure but its not the same basket of goods I buy.
Like they are saying that food is up 4.6% in a year while Im seeing 20% increases in meat just this year alone and 10-15% on dairy. Only products I buy that have only suffered 4.6% inflation is bread products and fresh fruit & veg but theres even anomalies in those categories.

Can someone explains how inflation is measured again?

Butter is now so expensive people will be wearing around their necks as a status symbol.
Seriously though, as a country we are one giant dairy farm with all the downsides that come with that surely home grown dairy products and meat should be affordable for everyone.

I have to say that I can’t quite grasp that inflation over the last 12 months is only in the region of ~2%.
Maybe someone can convince me that the CPI is actually an accurate measure of household costs?
