Yep, done with Labour, talk about splitting the vote all you like, but not going to be voting for this absolute shower of shit again.
I guess Labour don’t want anyone in Liverpool to vote for them anymore then either.

And this appointment highlights how we end up with bullshit laws that people don’t understand and that actually make things worse. Welcome to the UK version of Trump and Fox News appointees.

Starmer and McSweeney’s New New Labour is purely there to cover up the smell from the dead and rotting neoliberal consensus, and continue to serve the interests of the wealthy and powerful who have benefited from it for so long.
They are almost certainly doing things like this at the behest of wealthy donors and media barons whose support they feel they can’t do without, because surely even they aren’t so stupid that they thinks this looks good.
What they don’t realise (or, at least, what Starmer doesn’t realise, because he seems to have turned out to be deeply shit at actual politics) is that those wealthy teats they suckle at are almost certainly not too bothered about giving Labour marching orders that will ultimately tank its popularity and destroy it at the next election, because they’re already salivating at the prospect of jumping to Reform and their “Truss-on-steroids” economics as soon as they can.

How on earth are they just so bad? I mean, they haven’t reached tory levels of bad yet, but they seem to have taken it as a challenge as opposed to a warning.

This, the crackdown on peaceful protesters, siding with the corporations and removing our rights, Labour seem to be speed running their way to being voted out at the next election, in a landslide.

Seems like an absolute prick this guy. Convicted of publicly revealing personal details of sexual assault victims as well.

David Dinsmore has held senior editorial and executive roles at *The Sun* and its parent company News UK for decades. His tenure includes a **criminal conviction** for coverage which could have resulted in a breach of the anonymity of a sexual offence victim, a vehement defence of Page 3 objectification, and ongoing denial of wrongdoing in relation to *The Sun*’s involvement in illegal activity– later admitted to in claims brought by Prince Harry and Lord Watson.
**He is not just unfit for public office – his appointment actively damages public trust.**

Worked and was editor for the Sun (with all that entails, particularly during hacking scandals), got the title of the Sexist of the Year, worked under Rebekah Brooks, convicted of publishing an insufficiently pixelated picture of a sex abuse victim, undermined Leveson, published a host of Katie Hopkins articles including some calling asylum seekers cockroaches.
What amazing working class, left-leaning, progressive credentials for Starmer to add to his team.

I know a lot of left minded folks will despair at this but a part of me feels quite positive. The thing that’s pissed me off most is the way this gov have struggled to communicate their policy and get people on board with their mission, resorting to reversing very fair and reasonable policy just because of backlash. Ok no doubt this guy is right wing, but he’s also an expert at communicating to simple people, and that’s exactly what his job is. He’s not shaping policy.
