He’s absolutely correct, but most politicians wouldn’t want to hear it- they’d much rather this was a future problem not a now problem
Also for some inexplicable reason people are more afraid of russia falling apart than of it *not* falling apart. As if they’d rather have a North Korea instead of (for example) Yugoslavia. From the perspective of having one of these two as a neighbor in a few decades, Yugoslavia is *vastly* preferable
As much as I’d like to see Putin ousted, historically external attempts to out regimes often strengthen them.
Multiple times in the last 3 decades, Iran has been on the brink of a regime change, until the US got involved. The outside medaling gives the regime a justification for oppressive policies.
People prefer their dictator to outside interference.
