It’s a bit subjective. If Larry Murphy was sitting in a deckchair outside your house, you’d probably be concerned.

    2. Who brings something like that to court…..and I hope they pay for that…..

I am a bit confused by this.

Going by this article alone, it would seem the land owner is being unreasonable.

But looking into it, the neighbours all agree that the man owns the land. He is very clear that he does not want people hanging out on it. But the neighbours don’t seem to give a fuck and feel entited to use the land.

A few years back he made a footpath and planted trees on the land, and the neighbours sort of lost their shit over it. “We have been using this land since the 60s”. If that was the case, could they not as a group claimed squatters rights years ago.

The landowner then tried to build a small fence and the council said no.

What I am confused about is that the council also rezoned the land to public use. It sounds like at this point the council are forcing this man to own a very small park.

I feel really sorry for this man, he bought a house with some adjoining land. All his neighbours agree that he own the land, but at the same time want unfetted access to it. It sounds like he has been haarassed by a group of pensioners for the past 20 years.

Good God this dispute has been going on since the 60’s, over fifty years !!

There in their 80’s now, talk about a dog with a bone… get a grip and let it go, it’s his land
