> More than 1 in 10 eligible children under the age of 5 in England haven’t had the measles mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine or are only partially vaccinated.

Before anyone piles on the mum:
>Renae Archer was too young to have the MMR vaccine when she caught the infection at just five months old.
>A decade later, she was diagnosed with subacute sclerosing panencephalitis, a very rare brain disease. She died in 2023.
Poor family, my heart goes out to them.
I can’t understand why children aren’t vaccinated as soon as possible. I understand there are cases where there may be heightened risk, but when the science behind vaccinations proves they work and proves they’ve saved countless lives, it annoys the living fuck out of me when some uppity arsehole thinks they know what’s better for their kids because they’ve “done the research”.
Absolutely fucking braindead.
Which is why herd immunity is so important. It is never just about your child, it for everyone who either cannot be vaccinated or who are too young to be vaccinated as well.
