They always use “protect the children” to erode the privacy of everyone. And in the USA the ones screaming that the most are most often the ones found with csam on their computer or diddling kids on the weekend.
So there are two fronts now? First the age verification and then the chat control? Are you serious?
People should start to remember that democracy is not “Things are just always great and politicians care about us”, it only gives you the instruments to vote and remove malicious actors. If everybody sits on their ass and does nothing, democracy is worthless
All the while the politicians are asking for VPNS to be part of their ‘expenses’…bastards.
How likely is this to pass? This is straight out of an authoritarian playbook.
So glad the UK and EU are become literal mass surveillance police states, that’s great, really cool. I suppose we might as well just drop election’s next and form the European empire? Because apparently none of us are getting any say in how our countries are run anyway.
