Intel needs to seriously boost their innovation for their CPUs are being crushed by competition… And we need good competition.

Ireland needs to realize that big companies can choose where they stay and start to make it easier to attract / keep them here (in addition to tax heaven)

The cost of doing business here is getting too high. Rents and housing costs are also a massive issue, which means wages need to keep increasing. Some of the big companies are now choosing to resource projects out of countries which are more cost-effective even with the tax advantages here – which are not as big as they once were. The costs are a threat to the entire economic model of the state, in my opinion.

They should warn the government about their inability to innovate and their loss of deals and market share to AMD and ARM based systems.

    5. They are absolutely right, and the government will respond, subsidising the business energy cost and have the citizens pay for it. Mark my words….

    6. The entire country is on hold while we await decisions by minor bureaucrats about the architectural merits of buildings.

We don’t want wind farms, we don’t want wave farms, we don’t want LNG, we don’t want nuclear, we don’t want to search for any new gas fields off our coast.

We just want to buy gas from the Brits at twice the price.

    8. Tbf the multinationals pressuring the government on housing is probably the only way they might get off their holes and try something.

Whatever the mid 21st century equivalent of Intel is we won’t be hosting it.

All of a sudden the Headmaster is correcting their homework not the favourite teacher who also picks the hurling team.

To be fair, who knows what Intel will do with any additional capacity created for them. At this point I don’t think they know either. Their restructuring is big and not in a good way.
