Looks like they are really trying their best to force feeding us their propaganda.

Fuck off, i don’t want to consume British Bullshit broadcasts.

Stinks of desperation.
If they made content worth watching, public broadcasting wouldn’t be in the gutter.
No-one should be forced to advertise low quality shit, just because we were all forced to pay for it.

Careful you don’t end up pushing a different type of BBC to YouTube users… might need another ID check for that.

It’s going to be Mrs Brown’s Boys, isn’t it – as if we haven’t suffered enough.

Gotta ask ‘why’? What are they going to do, exactly? Because they can’t get the buggers to pay the full tax they’re supposed to. Forcing them to do this? Haaaaaaah.
2027 is when BBC finally gets put to the curb, isn’t it? Or 2026? Can’t recall the exact year it’ll stop receiving our funding.

Very strange, people downvoting this post, but no comment is against it… Bots?

I’m sure people will sit through a 30 second advert to watch something they don’t want to watch without adverts

Choice 1: make entertaining and compelling content to attract viewers
Choice 2:desperately try to signpost boring outdated content to people already not interested in what you offer.
Looks like BBC are getting desperate here. While it will be sad to see a once entertaining provider wither and die they have missed every chance to adapt and survive they could have had so I don’t think they should be bailed out.

What the fuck are they doing in the government?
Who is suggesting these things as good ideas?

I’m fairly sure this is something required in Canada. Supports the local media industry without directly spending the money.
Quite a lot of YouTube we watch is produced in Britain anyway and this won’t stop you finding or searching for what you want, it would just bias the recommendation algorithm to local stuff.

Great, I’m really tired of the BBC and the government overstepping its control of media
I would cancel it if it wasn’t for my family using it as i dont even watch that crap

Seems benign. They obviously just want to promote British productions.

Dont care for bbc programs nor do I care for the BBC in general but fair enough to the people who axtually do partake in watching, let them pay and leave the rest of us alone.
If they are that bothered lock ghe bbc behind a subscription and then charge people but let me guess hardly anyone would pay for it.
Or maybe just put ads in like every other country with the bbc in and be done with it.
Cba with it tbf. I dont even watch tv in general but I do use YouTube for various subs I have on there.

Honestly I’d much rather the algorithms on Youtube promoted public service content than promoted the bottom of the barrel, brain numbing slop it usually does.
What would you rather a kid handed a tablet by their lazy parents watch: a kids programme produced by the BBC, or whatever lazy, uneducational, [potentially fetish content](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elsagate) which *the algorithm* has decided to push today?
