I agree Europe isnt doing everything to decouple from Russia, but this is just whataboutism. Beside that there is a big difference: Europe more or less only kept those relations alive which are necessary for its survival, India on the other side massively increased its dependency on Russia.

So yeah, Europe should do more, but this isnt an excuse for India at all.

A totalitarian dictator working with another dictator at the protest of democratic countries đŸ˜±.

      What a shocker

India always goes about saying they’re neutral and will only do things that benefits India… Yet complains when other countries do the same? Bunch of hypocrites.

Don’t need trade barriers. Just turn off the visa spigot. Russians and all of their allies don’t get visas. No tourist visas, no study visas, no job seeker visas.

That is not how it works India! Your state is a literal powder keg waiting to explode. You might grandstand and post independence but if we punish you or withdraw our expertise, our diplomacy from India you would likely blow up!

To all the Indians who read this: You have separatism, terrorism, religious divide and much more on your home turf. Quite often an RPD or bomb is launched. Every singly one of our business and diplomatic relations usually comes with help to bridge those divides. What happens when stop that, or simply do not care anymore if someone wants to set India on fire? There are thousands of businesses and investors from us who operate to bridge divides in India.

Lmao it’s so funny to see this. Especially when oil bought by india is refined and sold to Europe. 😂. Will your countries stop buying Russian oil that’s refined in India. Let me tell ya… They won’t

No, can’t play this card like that. When the full scale war started, all Indian media was chanting “it’s just business”, “not our war”, “India first”, “what’s best for India”. What about card has been burned at that time.

Funny. India complains because making business with the EU biggest enemy at this moment leads to problems for India? Too fucking bad.

If you want to trade with Russia and your BRICS buddies, go ahead. Own it. But don’t come crying about it later.

Peak whataboutism. If you can’t handle the heat, don’t fuel the Russian meat grinder

The only way for this to end is for things to start getting messy. Good luck out there friends

    11. It’s for domestic consumption and India had a long history of resisting external pressure, stubbornly if you will.

Tell india the same they told Europe: Europe and the US are just looking out for their own best interests, such as stopping Russia from further annexation of Ukraine.

Jaiswal argued that India began importing crude from Russia “because traditional supplies were diverted to Europe after the outbreak of the conflict”. He added, “The US at that time actively encouraged such imports by India for strengthening global energy markets stability.”

Did anyone even read the article?

India is right. It’s not their war.

Besides, India = 1.4 billion people, China = 1.4 billion people. And they should bow to the USA 330 million and EU 400 million?

    15. OrbAndSceptre on

India is a founding member of BRICS along with Russia and China. You don’t see Europe or USA creating clubs with Russia.

    16. LogOverall1905 on

From what I remember India and China forced Russia to trade using their currencies. If you ask me it’s a disadvantage. Russians don’t need millions in Yuen or Rupees.

    17. The Hindustan Times isn’t credible for anything. Just a propaganda outlet for the Kremlin. Look at all their insane reporting about Ukraine.

    18. yolk_malone on

Watch US and Europe somehow piss India off so much it mends ties with China and actually creates a credible eastern bloc.

Thats not an economic war the west can win lol

    19. ProductGuy48 on

We should be selling Pakistan and Taiwan military equipment in proportional value to the trade India and China are doing with Russia.

Don’t like conflict on your doorstep? Don’t fund it on ours.

    20. kashkoi_wild on

At least Europe and US give Ukraine weapons, how much artillery shells did India give to Ukraine? Not a single tank, nothing. So India’s argument is stupid

    21. explosiveshits7195 on

Well yeah that’s the idea, they’re actively trading with a hostile entity that is actively waging a war against an ally and also trying to destabilize both regions, of course they’re gona catch some strays.

It’s just business India, remember? đŸ€·â€â™‚ïž

Neither India, Europe, Russia, America, nor China is truly correct; in the end, it is all purely self-interest. Time will be the ultimate judge, deciding who is destined to grow and who is destined to be destroyed. I am myself a half-Indian, half-British citizen of both the United Kingdom and the United States. Remember, in this world there is no absolute good or evil, no black or white, no right or wrong, only the grey interests of karma. I support the West because my benefit lies with the West, but do I consider others wrong? That is a one-dimensional mistake I shall never make. Just as I have my interests, others have theirs, and the same applies to countries, civilisations, and people.
