Well he does look to Trump for inspiration and he regularly has people pay to get close to him. It’s not really a surprise he does this. If he ever becomes PM we can expect him granting favours to his wealthy donors.

He is almost certainly going to be the PM after Labour inevitably lose the next election, a 250k investment now could lead to a multi million pound government contract further down the line.
Kind of like how Peter Kyle did some ‘consulting’ for an AI company while in opposition and they’ve ended up with a tasty contract now he’s Technology Secretary.
