I am sorry for your loss
It’s so striking that the Ukranian war-dead appear like fit, intelligent stand-up guys you’d love to have a drink with. They leave behind distraught family and adoring kids. The opposing forces, on the other hand, look like the sweepings of the gutter.
Russia only really benefits when an unemployed alcoholic or long-term prisoner dies. Ukraine suffers with every casualty. Looking at the raw casualty figures from both sides doesn’t reflect this.
