      She’s a Ukrainian artist who’s defied it all. When she was a kid, her parents didn’t let her paint because “no one will marry an artist.” She dealt with a lot of mockery and bullying, and she lived her whole life in a village without a passport. Her “ticket out” could’ve been a portrait of Stalin. But she said no and stuck to her guns.
