Isn’t this… Kind of small time? Surely the Met has much bigger problems.

I’ve never found the luxury goods isle in my local Tesco.

The rewards far outweigh the risks.
These gangs know that they’re unlikely to receive any real punishment even if caught by the police and that also goes for those stealing cars and mobile phones etc.
They know policing, the Courts and prisons are on their knees right now so know they can basically take what they want, when they want and not a damn thing is going to be done about it.

How long before private security firms start getting paid to prevent shoplifting?

UK infrastructure isn’t able to cope with the population increase. For a justice system to work, it can’t be based on prison population limits. We need real sentences as a deterrent.
NHS is stretched to thin, public transport is stretched to thin, the roads are stretched to thin, all public servics are! Housing supply Vs demand is causing unaffordable houses. The justice system is about to break under capacity.
You can’t build infrastructure easily. It takes years. The UK needs to downsize.

What is is with these articles about shops when people get Robbed on Oxford St by organised gangs for their phone every day and you don’t see one officer in either plain clothes or uniform.
Looks to me like propaganda from news sites to discourage shoplifting.

Where are the people who say, “If you see a shoplifter, you didn’t”?

I’m still confused by the long game here.
That’s £5,000 each worth of goods
Over 6 weeks
So £833 each a week.
Is this ‘organised crime’ really worth it?
Especially considering the resale value is fuck all?
