Why exactly is hiking rent such an offence? That’s permitted by law

She had to go her position was totally untenable, her job as an MP is also pretty untenable. Her actions were totally unacceptable for an MP let alone a Labour MP.

      Treasury minister resigns for corruption

Homelessness minister resigns for making people homeless

Almost as good as some of Trumps appointments.

Coffey as Secretary of State for health was pretty funny though

It astonishes me that supposedly rational people take up these positions and have absolutely no self-awareness.

Doesn’t this tell us something about the people in charge of Labour? It’s the Labour party. I’m hardly a Corbynista but like…homelessness minister throwing tenants out…?

The Starmer gang seem so cold and calculated. That coldness is why they are losing. It’s all about lines on a graph and playing a kind of political chess game. There’s a lack of humanity in this project. They’re too tense and too serious for the british public to buy into them. We saw it with the winter fuel and the welfare bill. Labour needs a moral compass and currently it’s missing that.

Good. Her property rental dealings were not compatible with her brief on homelessness. Personally, with her being a private landlord, and part of the problem, I don’t think she should ever have accepted the post.

The one positive is that it’s a pleasant return to ministers resigning when their position becomes untenable, rather than misleading, doubling down and brazening it out, supported by their leaders.

    7. Has there been a worse labour gov than this shower of shit? They might even be worse than the Tories.

They really are a thick bunch aren’t they? Did she

Actually respectable. If only more were held accountable for their actions. Who is next?

Too late – the damage is done to the Labour Party, and they deserve it.

So Tulip Siddiq resigned after it became known she and her family were benefitting from money her ex dictator aunt was funnelling out of Bangladesh.

Now another minister resigns because her personal conduct was at odds with homelessness policies she was in charge of.

What is going on!? Is no one vetting these people before giving them cabinet positions

Losing her £20,000 extra ministerial salary because she wanted an extra £8000 in rent, lol.

Why was she even offered this position in the first place, I mean a (I’m assuming) buy to let landlord in charge of sorting out homelessness? 😂 this is yet another example of Labours lack of self awareness

Easy for Starmer to give her the push since Labour don’t actually care about homelessness so the Homelessness Minister position was never going to go to somebody important to them.
