For once they have a quote from an actual meteorologist:

>”Heading into Tuesday (August 12), there’s more of a probability that we could see a few more areas starting to see 30C, possibly a degree or two higher. We’re looking at a 10 per cent chance of pushing into 32C, 33C, possibly even 34C.
So ‘Set for 34C’ = 10% chance of >32C. So whatever verdict the met office have given isn’t the one in the sodding headline.
They give these out for the entire country, I live in Scotland and it’s rare even in heat blasts to go by 22c where I live. Yet everyone moans it’s gonna be like Spain. What they mean to say is London.
The thing I hate about these heatwaves is by the time you get used to the hot weather it snaps back to being 18c again
Would be quite welcome after the last couple of days’ downturn – positively early Autumnal in feel and I’m not ready for that yet! This is shaping up to be quite a notable spring / summer and already clearly a classic for fruit – enjoy while its here because we’ll miss it when it’s gone. Where did July go by the way? Seems seconds since it was June, but all too aware that won’t be the case with January.
When? Saw the outlook yesterday and it was 19-22 all week
I preferred it when heat waves only came once every few years
