Ždiar is not directly on your path but it offers nice views. I recommend stopping at Ždiar Strednica (big parking place there). Also It may also be worth visiting Zakopane in Poland if you are near.
You can also stop in Starý Smokovec and visit Hrebienok (light hike by foot or funicular). Another option is top stop in Tatranská Lomnica and visit Botanical garden (https://www.tanap.sk/botanicka-zahrada-expozicia-tatranskej-prirody-etp/).
