A serious offer from a country actually seeking to negotiate (which Russia isn’t) would be returning all of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia for Luhansk and Donetsk. I think Ukraine would genuinely consider that as well.

Trump is either an idiot or dementia-addled to conclude Kramatorsk and Sloviansk should be completely yielded in exchange for a couple of border towns in Kharkiv and Sumy.

Why doesn’t the US give Russia some land?

Why is everyone so hyper focused on ceeding land? Ceeding land is not the important part.

SECURITY GUARANTEES is far far far more important.

Think of the best security guarantee you can get. South Korea style. You have a DMZ with your enemy. On that DMZ and near it you have American troops. If North Korea ever crossed the DMZ. The American contingent wouldn’t be able to hold them for more than a few hours. But within a day or so the American armada would arrive and absolutely annihilate them. They know that so they don’t dare.

Obviously this level of guarantee is impossible here due to Soviet Era nukes that Russia didn’t even build.

But you can get SUFFICIENT guarantees that prevent further wars.

If you get sufficient guarantees. It may very well be worth giving up Donbas and giving away Crimea. It sucks. But there’s no other way to end the war. It’s the only way for Ukrainians to stop dying. The only way for the country to move forward. TO join the EU. To finally have decent standards of living. For the men to stop being snatched off the streets by the TZK.

I cant take this seriously anymore. I mean I knew things would go to shit once Trump got reelected but this is more absurd than I could have ever imagine.
