We’ve seen what his worth, no offers if millio6from any other broadcaster, no harm bring him back at what his worth, minimum wage would be too much for him in my opinion

A lot of hacks have made copy running with some variation of this story for the past few years. Niamh Horan this time, but Fionnan Sheehan is usually the man behind the story.

Think the donkey has been worked to death at this stage

I’d leave my job if he returned to RTE. I don’t even work there.

Tubs is dying in the UK. Virgin Media simply hasn’t the money, TG4 wouldn’t want him, and RTÉ should stay WELL wide of him.

TodayFM or Newstalk are his likeliest radio options, and I could really see him take an Indo column and begin a career as a “centre-right” contrarian-for-hire.

Took paycut after paycut after paycut over in the UK to keep his job because nobody was interested in him.

Why in the name of God would RTE want him back for any reason other than looking after their own

His U.K. career failed to take off, now he’s paid his penance and wants to board the gravy train once again.

    7. This is all part of the rehabilitation plan, if he was truely sorry he would of repaid it without having his agent and pr leak the story. Establishment Ireland looking after its own

The argument for paying the talent exorbitant sums at RTE was always that they would just leave and earn similar somewhere else. At least now we know it’s bullshit.

If he comes back (not that I think he should), it better not be for crazy money. Give him a PAYE salary and make him put in 40hrs a week for it.

He was alright as a presenter.
The only issue is his salary

    11. He could become a right wing grifer and blame “cancel culture” and “mainstream media” on why he got defenestrated from RTÉ.
