Anyone who reads the agreement — and I’ve written about it myself — will see that there is no such thing as a corridor. There is no corridor, there is a route, and Armenian laws will apply. Other than that, if Azerbaijan will have easy access to Nakhchivan and American companies will create jobs in the region, it is positive news for both sides.

Moreover, if Turkey opens its borders, Armenia will benefit from regional trade, thus the two sides will have no reason to fight.

      Peace through trade

(FYI the URL in question goes to Azerbaijani state news site if anyone is concerned about that)

      >”Of course, this corridor is not what has been exaggerated about in the news,” the president said, adding that “the demands of the Islamic Republic of Iran have been met.”
      >
      >”The framework of preserving territorial integrity, establishing a connection with Europe, and not cutting off it with the north, which was meant by the Islamic Republic, have been witnessed in this issue.”
      >
      >”The only matter of concern is that an Armenian company and an American company want to build this road,” he added.

So all that huffing and puffing, and it’s a complete nothingburger. Even Iran acknowledges that this deal preserves Armenia’s territorial integrity.

Where are all the people who were saying “Oh, but this will upset Iran?!” or that Armenia capitulated and gave land away? Haha.
